Michael J. Fox: A Devoted Dad of Four – Meet His Kids and What They’ve Been Up To

Michael J. Fox, best known for his role in Back to the Future, often says that his most important role is being a dad. He and his wife, Tracy Pollan, have been together for more than three decades and are proud parents of four children. Even while facing the challenges of Parkinson’s disease since his diagnosis in 1991, Fox has always made it clear that his family is his top priority.

His love for his family often comes through in his social media posts and was a big part of his 2023 documentary, Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie. Here’s a look at his kids and what they’ve been up to.

Sam Michael Fox, the couple’s firstborn, arrived on May 30, 1989. Fox has shared how meaningful it was when he and Tracy were preparing to become parents for the first time — he even used to sing to Tracy’s belly. Now 35, Sam has followed in his father’s footsteps in the entertainment world. He’s worked on projects like the Still documentary and Ben Barnes’ music video “11:11.” Michael often posts about Sam with pride, highlighting their strong father-son relationship.

Aquinnah Kathleen and Schuyler Frances, their twin daughters, were born on February 15, 1995. Both women have impressive academic and professional backgrounds. Aquinnah studied psychology, media, and art history at Duke University and was involved in dance while there. She now works at Annapurna Pictures in L.A., after previously working in marketing in New York. On their birthday, Fox shared a sweet message: “Double the love. You’re doing well. Doods, I adore you.”

Schuyler also studied psychology, earning her bachelor’s from Pomona College, and later completed a master’s in education at Harvard. She’s currently a producer based in Massachusetts and has previously worked at Columbia University Medical Center. The twins have shown strong support for their dad’s advocacy work and were involved in Still, standing by him throughout the process.

Esmé Annabelle, their youngest, was born on November 3, 2001. She tends to keep a low profile and values her privacy, but she headed off to college in 2019, making Fox and Pollan official empty nesters. Despite not being active on social media, she’s often mentioned in her dad’s posts. For her 20th birthday, he called her “Ezzie” and wrote about the joy she brings to his life. Esmé is currently a student at Duke University, just like her sister Aquinnah.

Each of Fox’s children has shown strong support for him, especially in his ongoing journey with Parkinson’s. Sam regularly shares messages of love and admiration for his dad, while Aquinnah and Schuyler have helped raise awareness about the disease by appearing with him publicly and being part of his documentary.

Even though Esmé stays out of the spotlight, she’s always there with the family during public events and appearances. The tight-knit bond they share as a family is clear, and their support has been a powerful constant in Michael J. Fox’s life.
