Eva Longoria Shares Why She’s Chosen to Live Abroad

Eva Longoria, best known for her iconic role in Desperate Housewives, has opened up about her decision to spend the majority of her time outside the United States. In a revealing interview with Marie Claire, Longoria explained that she now divides her time between Spain and Mexico, leaving Hollywood behind when she isn’t working.

While living abroad isn’t a new experience for Longoria, her reasons for spending more time outside the U.S. have shifted over the years. She expressed concern over the current state of the country, calling it “a scary place” and pointing to the political landscape, particularly following Donald Trump’s presidency, as a significant factor in her decision. “If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place,” she noted, acknowledging how the political changes led her to rethink her future in the U.S.

Longoria has long been involved in activism, dedicating much of her time during the 2020 election to support now-Vice President Kamala Harris. She also worked alongside Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, focusing on empowering women and the Latino community to get involved in politics. Despite her choice to live abroad, she emphasized that her commitment to activism remains strong. “I would like to think our fight continues,” Longoria stated.
