Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner is stepping into a new chapter of parenting as her oldest daughter, Bella, prepares to start college — a milestone that’s brought out a flood of emotions and concerns for the seasoned journalist.
Navigating Change as a Mother
Faulkner, 59, recently shared her thoughts in an interview with the Daily Mail, where she expressed mixed feelings about her daughter’s next steps in life. While proud of Bella’s growth, she admitted feeling uneasy about the societal challenges young people — especially those who are biracial — may face.
Bella, 18, and her 15-year-old sister, Danika, are growing up in a racially and culturally blended family. Faulkner, who is Black, and her husband, Tony Berlin, who is white, have raised their daughters with an awareness of both identity and belief systems.
“As someone who’s outspoken about both race and faith, I see how often people are criticized or even targeted for simply being who they are,” Faulkner said. “My worry isn’t isolated to just one thing — it’s everything. Their appearance, their background, their beliefs. It’s not just about my kids. I worry for everyone’s kids.”
Faith and Identity in a Blended Household
Faulkner and Berlin have cultivated a home that respects and celebrates both Christianity and Judaism, giving their daughters a strong foundation in both traditions. This dual-faith upbringing is especially meaningful to Faulkner, who emphasized the need for solidarity on college campuses, particularly with the rise in antisemitism.
“Jewish students need to know they have allies,” she said. “There’s more love out there than hate, even if it doesn’t always seem that way on campus.”
Weighing In on Women’s Sports and Fairness
Faulkner also addressed the ongoing debate surrounding transgender athletes in women’s sports — a topic that hits close to home due to her younger daughter Danika’s involvement in competitive gymnastics.
“If biological males were allowed to compete against my daughter, the playing field would change completely,” Faulkner said. “My priority is her safety and her right to compete fairly, where her hard work and achievements matter.”
Her remarks reflect similar positions taken by former President Donald Trump, whose recent executive order aims to uphold protections for female athletes.
A Young Woman With Big Goals
Despite her worries, Faulkner couldn’t hide her admiration for Bella’s confidence and clarity of purpose. Bella, she noted, is self-assured when it comes to her values — and even her political views.
“She knows who she is and what she stands for,” Faulkner said, glowing with pride. Bella plans to pursue a degree in early childhood education, focusing on helping kids who need extra attention and care — a career choice her mother finds deeply inspiring.
Taking on Critics and Winning Viewers
Faulkner, never one to shy away from controversy, also took a moment to call out the tone of daytime rival The View, criticizing its often heated approach to discussion. She specifically referenced an exchange with co-host Sunny Hostin in 2018.
“She went after me,” Faulkner recalled. “But here I am, still standing.”
And Faulkner’s success speaks for itself. Her show The Faulkner Focus drew in an average of 2.55 million viewers this past January, topping The View and proving that her calm, focused style resonates with a wide audience.
