Lynda Carter and Daughter Dazzle at 50th Anniversary Celebration of Wonder Woman

Lynda Carter and her daughter, Jessica Carter Altman, lit up the red carpet on May 19 with a dazzling appearance at the Paley Honors Spring Gala. The glamorous mother-daughter duo stepped out in coordinated, high-fashion ensembles that subtly nodded to Lynda’s legendary role as Wonder Woman.

Now 73, Carter was recognized by the Paley Center for Media at this special event, which marked half a century since the debut of the original Wonder Woman television series that aired from 1975 to 1979. Carter famously portrayed Diana Prince throughout all three seasons and made a return in the 2020 film Wonder Woman 1984, starring alongside Gal Gadot.

Lynda’s Power Look in Jean Paul Gaultier

Carter brought a striking elegance to the carpet in a bold Jean Paul Gaultier outfit. Her look combined a beaded corset with a sleek, fitted black skirt, layered under a statement white trench coat that featured structured shoulders — an unmistakable nod to superhero style. A red lace glove with ribbon accents added a vibrant contrast, while square-toe black heels completed the ensemble.

Jessica’s Sleek Style in Jason Wu

Jessica Carter Altman, 34, brought a modern edge to the evening in a black strapless gown by Jason Wu. Her dress showcased a flipped collar detail and a flowing sheer skirt. Minimalist black sandals kept the overall look polished and contemporary.

Both women wore their brunette hair in loose, voluminous waves — a subtle homage to Lynda’s signature 1970s hairstyle that became a pop culture staple during her run as Wonder Woman.

Honoring an Icon

This year’s gala held special meaning as it celebrated Carter’s groundbreaking contribution to television and her lasting impact on pop culture.

“Lynda Carter’s iconic portrayal remains a timeless symbol of strength, courage, and empowerment,” said Maureen J. Reidy, President and CEO of The Paley Center for Media, in a statement shared with Variety.

From her trailblazing days on screen to her return in the modern Wonder Woman films, Carter’s legacy continues to inspire generations — a lasting testament to the power of strong female heroes in entertainment.
