In a recent episode of his podcast, former FOX News host Tucker Carlson shared pointed criticism of his old network and longtime Pentagon correspondent Jennifer Griffin. Carlson alleged that Griffin isn’t just a reporter — he believes she aligns with what he describes as the “deep state,” accusing her of pushing its narrative instead of offering fair, unbiased coverage.
Carlson, who once supported the U.S. military efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, has since become an outspoken critic of American foreign policy. He now claims those wars served the interests of defense contractors and unelected bureaucrats, rather than benefiting the country as a whole.
During his remarks, Carlson said, “Even compared to typical Pentagon figures, Jennifer Griffin stands out — not because she works there officially, but because she seems to act on their behalf. She’s essentially a mouthpiece for the most entrenched elements in the government. It’s almost like satire.”
Carlson continued, accusing Griffin of being dishonest and heavily biased. “She’s a liar, and extremely liberal — a true Trump critic,” he said. “I generally avoided calling out colleagues at FOX, but she was an exception. Her reporting damaged the network’s credibility, especially with our core audience who supported Trump.”
He claimed Griffin frequently misled viewers, adding, “You couldn’t criticize her. She was seen as untouchable. But she was misleading the audience — and she clearly held contempt for the people who tuned in. What was FOX getting out of keeping her?”
Carlson’s criticism was echoed by FOX News contributor Pete Hegseth, who recently confronted Griffin at a press conference. In a widely circulated clip posted to X, Hegseth told her, “You’ve been the worst — the one who misrepresents the most, and you do it on purpose.” Griffin quickly responded, saying she took “issue” with that accusation.
The clip sparked heated debate online. Many conservative users took to the comments to voice their frustration with Griffin’s reporting. One user wrote, “Hegseth is right. Griffin just repeats whatever filtered information she gets from her State Department contacts. That’s one of the reasons I stopped watching FOX.”
Another commenter added, “She should be removed from Pentagon coverage altogether. I even heard she has her own office there. No journalist should have that kind of access unless it’s during official briefings.”
One critic referenced Griffin’s past coverage during a military strike, writing, “She praised it as the best operational security she’d ever seen. She never admitted she was wrong, especially when she misjudged Hegseth. She’s been doing this for years.”
Another user offered a blunt take: “She always defends Biden and the people botching military policy, while attacking Trump and Hegseth with snark and sarcasm. I won’t even listen to her anymore.”
