Kat Timpf Celebrates Birth of First Child Amid Unexpected Cancer Diagnosis

In a powerful turn of events, comedian and Fox News personality Kat Timpf welcomed her first child just hours after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis—a moment she described as anything but typical.

The 36-year-old “Gutfeld!” panelist shared the emotional news with fans in what she called “An Unconventional Birth Announcement,” posted across her social media channels.

“Last week, I became a mom for the first time,” Timpf wrote. “Roughly fifteen hours before I went into labor, I learned I had breast cancer.”

Timpf and her husband, Cameron Friscia—a former Army Ranger whom she married in 2021—are now celebrating the arrival of their baby boy. Alongside the joyful news, she reassured followers that her diagnosis is at Stage 0, the earliest and most treatable form of the disease. According to her doctors, it’s highly unlikely the cancer has spread.

In typical Timpf fashion, she addressed the situation with candid humor. “As I’ve told the few people I’ve managed to speak with: Don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a little bit of cancer,” she said, revealing that her treatment plan will include a double mastectomy. She did not specify the type of breast cancer.

“It definitely wasn’t what I’d call a low-stress day,” she added. “To put it mildly.”

Timpf first announced her pregnancy in July and had recently released her second book, I Used to Like You Until… (How Binary Thinking Divides Us), in early September. She described waking up a week past her due date feeling an intense urge to go into labor—only to find herself spending the day at back-to-back medical appointments discussing cancer treatment. Labor began that very night.

Reflecting on her journey, Timpf shared how the public response to her pregnancy was often mixed. “I spent years getting criticized for not having kids,” she said during a September interview with The Times. “Then when I did get pregnant, some of the same people were annoyed I was talking about it.”

“To those who say, ‘You’re not the first person to be pregnant,’ trust me, I know that,” she said. “But this is my first time. Life can feel so monotonous, and there are very few experiences that spark genuine joy and awe. This has been one of those for me.”

Fans have since flooded her posts with messages of support—and admiration for her strength in navigating two life-changing events within the span of a single day. And, of course, plenty of love for the “adorable” new addition to the Timpf family.
