The Trump Administration continues to make headway in its promise to pursue and prosecute violent criminals. In a significant development, Francisco Javier Roman-Bardales—a high-ranking member of the brutal MS-13 gang—has been extradited from Mexico to the United States to face serious federal charges.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the arrest, noting that Roman-Bardales was one of the Bureau’s “Ten Most Wanted” fugitives. He is accused of playing a central role in organized criminal activity, including drug trafficking and extortion operations that spanned both the U.S. and El Salvador. Authorities also allege that he directed multiple violent assaults targeting both civilians and rival gang affiliates.
Roman-Bardales is now the third individual from the FBI’s Top Ten list to be captured since the beginning of 2025. His arrest follows two earlier apprehensions:
- Arnoldo Jimenez, wanted for first-degree murder, was captured on January 30, 2025.
- Donald Eugene Fields II, accused of child rape and trafficking, was arrested on January 25, 2025.
The Trump Administration has reiterated its commitment to law enforcement efforts aimed at protecting American communities from dangerous individuals. The message is clear: those who bring violence and fear to the public will be hunted down and held accountable.
